IMPACT is the official journal of the International Mackintosh Society and has been capturing the sensual world of rubber and mackintosh enthusiasts since the late 1980s. Issues from 1989 and 1990 showcase intimate member stories, lively event reports from Swindon, Southwell and Beyond Belief weekends, and beautiful photography of glossy rubber mackintoshes, rubber-lined satin and sleek latex outfits.
Through Secretary’s notes, personal letters, Ladies Pages and social calendars, the magazine celebrates the shine, rustle and quiet thrill of traditional British rainwear while building a warm, inclusive community. A seductive and nostalgic archive for anyone who loves the feel and allure of quality rubber and mackintosh fashion.

History of The Mackintosh Society
The Mackintosh Society was founded in the 1950s at the height of the classic rubber raincoat era. For decades it served as a special club for enthusiasts, publishing a regular magazine filled with articles, stories, photography and member letters celebrating the unique appeal of rubberised mackintoshes.
Edited for many years by the late Ian Turton, the Society remains a much-loved part of rainwear heritage. We are gradually bringing the full archive of magazines to the new website.
