Title: Membership — a short note while we get the site running
The site is still more or less at pre-launch. A few of you are back from the old days, and a few never quite managed to get in last time. Both are welcome.
I am extending everyone’s membership so we can test the place properly. That includes people who paid, people whose access lapsed, and people who never got through the door. For the time being those extensions are free.Please have a look round and say if something is broken — login, renewals, messages, the stories, anything else. I cannot fix what I do not hear about.
Thank you for your patience. Once it is working as it should, we will settle membership on a proper footing.

Honestly, I’m still working it out as I go. Users, members, subscribers — we’ve got a bit of everything at the moment, and I’m learning as we grow.
What I am sure about is that your input is genuinely helpful. As a thank you, I’ve added another month to your membership.

Thank you, I was a bit puzzled by the zero charge. I’ll probably sign up for Gold when it becomes due, I think my credit card has changed from MasterCard to Visa so adding to the confusion as nothing gets automatically transferred.

Just so you know, I’m sending a short email to everyone who’s been part of the club over the years — past, present, and the ones who tried and didn’t quite make it. That’s about two hundred and sixty addresses in total.
It’s a friendly “the site’s back” note, nothing heavy. If you’re on that list, you might get it — and if you happen to be in there twice, apologies in advance for the duplicate.
